List of documents for Dubai Civil Defence Inspection
Dubai Civil Defence has a vision “To have the United Arab Emireates as one of the best countries in the world in achieving Safety and Security”. The objectives of DCD is to protect lives by provides all the safety and security to industrial and commercial establishment.
DCD inspection related questions and answers: – (please note that all information given below is only from our experience, it may not be same always, it may vary )
- what is Green file?
Main contractor has to approach Typing centre to prepare Green File (There is a green colored suspension file which contain A). All fire related certificates, B)DCD approved Drawings, C).Application form, D) FitOut permit (typing Centre may charge around 150 dhs )
- Who should be available at site? :-
Fire alarm and Firefighting contractor must be available at site along with main contractor representative (make sure that Fire technician has valid delegate card)
- did you inform your team?
It is always better to talk your fire contractor and building management prior to select site inspection date. You are requested to officially inform your fire alarm and fire fighting
contractor at least 2-3 days in advance to ensure their availability at site while the DCD inspection
- How DCD Contact you?
DCD inspector will call from his mobile to the main contractor’s representative on the day of inspection, main contractor has to send him site location and application number through WhatsApp. (try to send exact location where he can park his vehicle near to the premises, so that inspector can navigate easily and save his time also)
5. Inspection hour: –
You can expect DCD call from early morning 7.40 AM onwards (usually 8 am to 2pm)
- During inspection:-
When DCD inspector enter inside the unit, you have to show him DCD approved drawings and all certificates, if he found all documents are there and drawings found okay, then he will insist fire technician to check the smoke/heat detector.
Inspector has to listen fire alarm siren clearly. If everything is going right, then you can expect COMPLETION CERTFICATE on the same day (some time on the spot), certificate will be available to download on main contractor’s portal)
- Inspection fee: –
DCD charge 50 fils/m² (normal inspection, it will take around 5-15 working days)
AED 1000 dhs addition for emergency inspection (usually 3 days)
- Fitout permit should be translated?
Yes, you have to attach “LEGAL TRANSLATED Fitout Permit” (English to ARABIC).
